Adam Schallau is a photographer whose work explores a variety of topics that
include the landscape, culture and people of the American Southwest and Rocky
Mountains. It is with a profound respect for the land, its people and their
history that Adam sets out to recapture the spirit of a place to tell a story
through his photography.
Adam is a recipient of the Luminous Landscape Endowment Award and was an Artist-in-Residence
at Grand Canyon National Park.
AcrosstheSouthwest.net has been created by photographer Adam Schallau to exhibit his latest photos, provide information about his photography workshops & tours, and to share his photographic knowledge.

You and far Southeastern Utah are attached at the hip. Every photograph you take there is just magical. The warmth in the foreground is very powerful in this image. But equally compelling is the subtle distant cliff colors, which match the warm foreground, and lead your eye right through the image. A real show stopper!
There is something about that part of the country that ‘does it’ for me. It’s not just the scenery, but it’s also an intangible quality, something that you have to experience first-hand.
