El Santuario de Chimayo Church on the High Road

El Santuario de Chimayo Church on the High Road

I originally photographed this church, located on the High road between Santa Fe and Taos, back in 1999. Back then, I wasn’t really into photography yet and had no understanding of shutter speeds and f-stops and as a result the photo wasn’t that great. Ever since then I’ve wanted to recapture this scene, but one [...]

Inside a Tepee

Inside a Tepee

This is a shot I created while photographing inside a hot, dusty, but incredibly beautiful tepee near Taos, New Mexico. I used a Canon 5D Mark II with a 17-40mm lens at 17mm to create the wide field-of-view, and I set a small aperture to assist in creating the sunstar.

I’m very excited to announce that one of my students will have his work on exhibit as part of a show at the Rift Gallery in Rinconada, New Mexico. Anasazi Gallery – Visions of the Past

Anasazi Gallery - Visions of the Past

Titled Visions of the Past, the new portfolio features images of granaries (small structures used for the storage of food) and cliff dwellings (larger structures used for housing) that have been abandoned in the countless canyons of the Four Corners region. At a later time I will add photographs of rock-art sites including both petroglyph [...]

Anasazi Hands Pictograph

Anasazi Hands Pictograph

Perched high above a canyon in a small alcove, this was obviously a popular spot as evidence [...]

Yellow-Headed Collared Lizard

Yellow-Headed Collared Lizard

I came across this interesting little guy (or lady) while hiking with friends in southern Utah. It’s a Yellow-Headed Collared Lizard (Crotaphytus collaris auriceps). This image was captured with my Canon EOS 5D Mark II with a 70-200mm f/4L IS lens and 1.4x tele-converter, hand-held.

The Spirit Within ~ Anasazi Cliff Dwelling

The Spirit Within ~ Anasazi Cliff Dwelling

I have just returned from southern Utah where I spent a few days with friends exploring the many archaeological treasures left behind by the ancestral puebloan people better known as the Anasazi. This particular shot was captured inside a large cliff dwelling that had a fine dust filtering through it.
This site is not part of [...]
